Acceptance of Terms

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms,” “Agreement”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”) and MidAtlantic Handyman Services MD, LLC doing business as DC Garage Door (“DC Garage Door,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By accessing or using our website at dcgaragedoorsrv.com, submitting a service request, scheduling an appointment, calling our office, clicking on our advertisements, or engaging any of our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and all policies incorporated by reference herein, including our Privacy Policy.

DC Garage Door is a licensed, insured, and family-owned garage door service company serving the Washington DC metropolitan area with over ten years of experience in garage door repair, installation, and maintenance.

Service Availability: Services are subject to technician availability, geographic service area coverage, and parts availability. We reserve the right to decline or limit services at our discretion, including for safety, liability, or access-related reasons.

Estimates, Quotes & Pricing

Free Estimates

DC Garage Door offers free estimates for garage door installation and repair services. Estimates are based on information available at the time of the quote — including the nature of the issue described, the type of door, and the scope of work anticipated. Estimates are not binding quotes.

Final Pricing

Final pricing is determined after an on-site inspection by our technician and may differ from any preliminary estimate if:

  • The actual scope of work is different from what was initially described;
  • Additional parts, materials, or labor are required upon inspection;
  • Access to the property or garage door presents unforeseen complications;
  • Custom or non-standard parts are required; or
  • The work involves emergency or after-hours service charges.

Upfront Pricing Commitment

Our technicians provide a written or verbal confirmed price before any work begins. By authorizing us to proceed, you agree to pay the confirmed price upon completion of the service.

Emergency & After-Hours Service

Emergency and after-hours service requests (evenings, weekends, and holidays) may be subject to additional service call charges, which will be disclosed to you before work begins.

Parts & Materials

Parts and materials used are subject to availability. Where a specific brand or part number is requested, pricing may vary. DC Garage Door reserves the right to substitute equivalent-quality parts when necessary, at equivalent or better quality standards.

Scheduling & Appointments

How to Schedule

Appointments may be scheduled by calling our office at (202) 455-4288, submitting the service request form on our website, or emailing us at office@dcgaragedoorsrv.com. Appointment availability is based on technician scheduling and geographic location.

Appointment Confirmation

All scheduled appointments will be confirmed by our team. We will provide a service window (e.g., a 2–4 hour arrival window) and will contact you prior to arrival. Confirmation may be via phone call, email, or SMS depending on the contact information you provide.

Access Requirement

A responsible adult (18 years of age or older) must be present at the property at the time of service. If no authorized adult is present when our technician arrives, the appointment may be rescheduled and a service call fee may apply.

Same-Day & Emergency Service

We offer same-day service for emergency repairs whenever technician availability permits. Same-day and emergency service is available 24/7 but cannot be guaranteed. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate urgent requests promptly.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

Cancellation by Customer

We understand that plans change. Customers who need to cancel or reschedule a non-emergency appointment are asked to notify us at least 4 hours before the scheduled appointment window by calling (202) 455-4288 or emailing office@dcgaragedoorsrv.com.

Late Cancellations & No-Shows

Cancellations made less than 4 hours before the appointment, or where the customer is not present when the technician arrives, may result in a service call fee to cover travel time and scheduling costs. This fee will be disclosed at the time of scheduling for any service where it may apply.

Cancellation by DC Garage Door

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to technician unavailability, severe weather, safety concerns, or circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, we will notify you as promptly as possible and offer an alternative appointment at no additional charge.

Parts Ordered in Advance

If parts have been specially ordered or procured for your scheduled service and you cancel, you may be responsible for the cost of those parts if they are non-returnable, non-stock items. We will inform you of any such items before ordering.

Payment Terms

When Payment Is Due

Payment for services is due upon completion of the work, unless a separate written arrangement has been made in advance. By authorizing work to begin, you agree to pay the full confirmed amount upon completion.

Accepted Payment Methods

We accept the following forms of payment:

  • Major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover)
  • Debit cards
  • Cash
  • Approved electronic payment methods
  • Check (for commercial accounts only, with prior approval)

Deposits for Custom or Large Orders

For custom garage door installations or large commercial projects, a deposit of up to 50% of the estimated project cost may be required before work begins or materials are ordered. Deposit amounts will be disclosed and agreed upon in writing before any work commences.

Non-Payment & Collection

Amounts not paid within 30 days of the invoice date may be subject to late payment fees and collection proceedings. DC Garage Door reserves the right to pursue all available legal remedies to recover outstanding amounts, including reasonable attorneys’ fees and collection costs to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Disputed Charges

If you believe an invoice is incorrect, please contact us within 10 days of receiving it. We will investigate and resolve all legitimate billing disputes in good faith.

No Hidden Fees: We believe in transparent, upfront pricing. Your technician will confirm the full cost before starting any work. You will never be charged for work that was not authorized by you.

Warranty & Satisfaction Guarantee

Workmanship Warranty

DC Garage Door warrants all labor and workmanship performed by our technicians against defects for a period of 30 days from the date of service completion, unless a longer warranty period is separately specified in writing at the time of service. If a defect in workmanship is identified within this period, we will return and correct the issue at no additional labor charge.

Parts & Materials Warranty

Parts and materials installed by DC Garage Door are subject to the manufacturer’s warranty for those specific components. Manufacturer warranty terms vary by product and brand. We will provide available manufacturer warranty information upon request. Our labor warranty and manufacturer parts warranties are independent of one another.

Warranty Exclusions

Our workmanship warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, or improper operation by the customer or third parties;
  • Normal wear and tear;
  • Damage from acts of nature (storms, flooding, extreme temperatures, etc.);
  • Damage caused by unauthorized repairs or modifications made after our service;
  • Pre-existing conditions not addressed during the original service;
  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect functionality.

100% Satisfaction Commitment

We are committed to your complete satisfaction. If you are not satisfied with our work, please contact us within 30 days of service completion and we will work with you to resolve the issue promptly and fairly.

Limitation of Liability

Cap on Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DC GARAGE DOOR’S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS, OUR SERVICES, OR YOUR USE OF THIS WEBSITE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO DC GARAGE DOOR FOR THE SPECIFIC SERVICE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00).

Exclusion of Consequential Damages

IN NO EVENT SHALL DC GARAGE DOOR, ITS MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF USE, PROPERTY DAMAGE BEYOND WHAT IS DIRECTLY CAUSED BY OUR NEGLIGENCE, OR PERSONAL INJURY NOT DIRECTLY CAUSED BY OUR NEGLIGENCE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Pre-Existing Conditions

DC Garage Door is not liable for damage or issues arising from pre-existing conditions of the garage door, structure, electrical system, or surrounding property that were not disclosed to or reasonably observable by our technician at the time of service.

Force Majeure

DC Garage Door shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms to the extent caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, severe weather, natural disasters, power outages, labor shortages, supply chain disruptions, or government actions.

Some states and jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.

Property Access & Safety

Authorization to Access

By scheduling service, you authorize DC Garage Door technicians to access the relevant areas of your property that are necessary to perform the requested services. You represent that you have the legal authority to grant this access, whether as the property owner or an authorized representative of the property owner.

Safe Working Environment

You agree to provide a reasonably safe working environment for our technicians. This includes ensuring the area around the garage door is clear of vehicles, obstacles, people, and pets prior to and during service. DC Garage Door reserves the right to decline or suspend work if conditions are deemed unsafe.

Children & Pets

For the safety of your family and our technicians, please keep children and pets away from the work area during all garage door service visits. Garage doors and related components can pose serious safety hazards.

Property Conditions

Our technicians will take reasonable precautions to avoid damage to your property. However, where pre-existing structural issues (e.g., rotted wood framing, damaged drywall, deteriorated concrete) exist, work on or near those areas may disturb them. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions or consequential cosmetic damage incidental to accessing deteriorated structures.

Hazardous Conditions

If our technician identifies conditions that present an imminent safety hazard (such as severely compromised springs, frayed cables, or structural instability), they may recommend that the garage door not be operated until repairs are completed. DC Garage Door is not liable for injuries or damages that occur if a customer continues to operate a garage door against our safety recommendation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and DC Garage Door each agree to resolve any disputes on an individual basis only, and not as part of any class, consolidated, or representative action.

Time Limitation on Claims

Any claim arising from or related to these Terms or our services must be brought within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues. Claims not brought within this period are permanently barred.
